PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND GOAL
 
The majority of mental health services are delivered in the primary care setting, where psychiatric and medical disorders are first diagnosed.
 
This program will provide a summary of the latest clinical data and research findings, address key issues in patient management and focus on the treatment strategies required to achieve the most favorable results to improve patient outcome.
 
With additional knowledge, physicians will be better able to identify risk factors associated with these disorders in order to provide better patient care.
 

NEEDS ASSESSMENT

 

To gain a better understanding of current, critical issues in psychiatry and new developments in scientific research involving advances in the etiology of sleep, anxiety, depression and bipolar disorders as well as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) including new treatment modalities, and the importance of individualization of care.

 

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

 

After completing this activity, the participant should be able to:

 

  • Analyze the latest research and clinical data regarding various psychiatric ..disorders
  • Incorporate the latest evidence into individualized treatment plans
  • Translate knowledge improvement into practice improvement with a goal of ...improving outcomes of patients with mental illness
 

TARGET AUDIENCE

 

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of psychiatrists, neurologists, primary care and internal medicine physicians, pediatricians and other healthcare providers interested in acquiring additional knowledge concerning psychiatric disorders.
